We all Need a Miracle Now and Then…

People pray for miracles every day. They need some sign to let them know that God has not forgotten them. Some might pray for the miracle of getting good test results back from the doctor.  As a parent, you pray that your children are safe and make good decisions in their lives. Some pray for the miracle of finding a job or mending a broken relationship. Still others might pray for the miracle just to make it through the day. I will be honest with you, that there is not a day that goes by, that I do not pray for a miracle.

When you read through the Bible, you see countless times where God has provided a miracle so that people will know and believe. It is all about getting God back into the lives of the believers. We know that Jesus walked on water; changed water into wine; made the blind see, the deaf hear and lame walk.

In the Old Testament we can read of the miracles of the parting of the Red Sea or miracle of the burning bush. We know that David was able to find the perfect stone to make sure Goliath fell. These historical miracles again showed God coming to the aid of His believers and reassuring us that we are never alone.

Being a Christian is all about believing in miracles. Jesus has shared with us repeatedly that He has come into the world so that we may have life. Jesus constantly was showing us the miracles that lead to the Father’s love. These miracles reassure us of God’s power in our lives.

In our world today there is so much chaos, fear and doubt. We are bombarded with news that makes us very unsettled. We worry about so many things. That is why I do pray for a miracle every day.

I cry out and ask God to open my eyes to seeing His power at work today. I am also such a believer to tell you, God never disappoints my request. I might not see a burning bush, but might hear God’s voice in the quiet of a prayer. I am blessed to be part of a faith community that believes in the gift of Holy Communion, and I get to encounter the miracle of table as we join all the angels and saints. I witnessed miracles of healings that can only be explained through the love and mercy of God.

In this time of desperation, join me in praying for a miracle. Let’s tell God, we are ready for His power in our lives. Then buckle up, for if you are open to a miracle, OUR LORD will provide.
