It’s another Easter.  Hard to believe 2026 is moving so quickly.  We have had a lot of Easters in our lives.  I have celebrated Easter 73 times.  The question is, what difference does Easter make?  We are still at war.  Gas prices are sky high.  And sometimes there is so much division and tension in the air, you feel you can cut it with a knife.  So, really, what difference will one more Easter make to the world?

Over the years I have heard a lot of answers to that question.

The answers include:   (1) It reminds us to have hope;  (2) It reminds us our loved ones are in heaven; and, (3) It reminds us of the importance of Jesus and His death and resurrection.  All these answers, and all these reminders are good.  All these answers are true.  But none of them really express the power of Easter.

Easter changes everything.  Easter lies at the center of the Christian faith.  You are a Christian if you believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  If you do not believe in this one TRUTH, you cannot call yourself a follower of Jesus.  Easter changes our eternity…where we are going and how we will BE in eternity.  Easter makes us unafraid of anything in this life because we KNOW that Jesus had defeated death and His will for us to live in His grace and in a peace the world cannot give and cannot take away.

I believe that we as a Church, as a nation, and as individuals need to let the impact of the resurrection touch our lives.  Jesus is risen.  Oh my God!!!!!  Exactly.  It proves He is God.  It proves that He is worthy of our praise.  And, it proves we can live the Jesus way forever.

Phil Wickham has a song called The Jesus Way.  The words say, “I follow Jesus, He wore my sin, I’ll gladly wear His name, He is the treasure, He is the answer, Oh, I choose the Jesus way.”

I invite you this Easter to choose the Jesus way.  Don’t allow this to be just another springtime holiday with a lot of candy, bunnies, and food.  LET this Easter be the one where it finally sinks in…JESUS IS GOD!  I need to live no longer for myself, but for Him.  Once you let the REAL significance of this holy day sink in, then everything changes.  Food will taste better, the candy will be sweeter, and the bunnies will signify new life.  And as far as war, gas prices, and tensions — you will come to realize they are only temporary and, in the end, Jesus wins.

I love the quote that says, “Easter is the one time during the year when it is safe to put all of your eggs in one basket!”

How true it is…we can put all our trust, hope, and even our lives into Jesus Christ.  He will lead us to heaven.

May you and your loved ones have a blessed and life-changing Easter.
