Women’s Ministry is Important to Me

As I look back on my life I can see the things that influenced me in my Christian life, the different parts of making me who I am. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) says:  “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,  plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Wow, what a verse to lean on!

I am sure when I started my journey I did not have a clue, but I know God had!  He knows every step I was going to make, and still does.   Peter and I started in Seattle going to a wonderful Christian Community church.

We had strong leaders teaching the word of God, and living it. I was part of the leadership team in women’s ministry, as well as prayer teams covering a couple of evangelist speakers that came to Seattle.

All this was exciting, but by no means did I feel like this was all I wanted.   Our women’s ministry was very different from PWC. We certainly learned, but the depth of faith I was yearning for was not there. I always wanted more.

Through the years we have served in big and small Christian churches. Being surrounded by people of faith has always been our desire. Of course, the more you become involved with God’s people your faith and knowledge continue to grow. When we moved to California we were involved in a multicultural church. This was a wonderful experience of learning.  It takes so many cultures to build His Church. This was a wonderful blessing.   As we became involved with the church and its people, we grew in our faith.

I became involved in teaching, and nurturing God’s women.   Again, somehow I kept yearning for more depth in my knowledge.   Again, remembering Jeremiah 29:11, I know He has a plan for me!

Then, three years ago in April 2018, we moved to Arizona, and walked into PWC.   We could feel the Holy Spirit in the teaching and the community. We knew God had brought us here to serve Him and this community.   The first Saturday they announced a new Bible class in women’s ministry was starting up. Of course, I was interested.

The Sunday before, I was introduced to the teacher of the class, a very powerful woman of God, Carol Taylor. I knew the moment I met her she was blessed by God.

That first Saturday as I was walking into Building 412 I prayed I would find the Holy Spirit in this place.  Once again His plan was working out so beautifully. Seeing the transformation in this class has been nothing short of amazing with God touching each of us. We learned to share our lives. We have learned to go deeper into God’s word. Carol’s teaching has truly changed lives for Christ.

When I look back on my first class, the transformation of lives was overwhelming and incredible!   Only the Holy Spirit could have changed the heart of our women.   I feel it is such a privilege to be part of this group whom I love very deeply.

Carol and I have become so deeply connected in faith and as friends, and God did this for us.  Watching our women and now being part of the leadership team is the missing link I have always yearned for.

Doing God’s work is such a joy when you are surrounded by people who love the Lord like you do. You see this is where I clearly see Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV): “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I believe I am where God wants me, and will help me to build others up in understanding the Gospel, His Kingdom and His Glory Forever.  This is my prayer.
