We will discover that we are in the house of the Lord wherever we are and whatever we do. By dwelling with the Lord in prayer, we can live in a hostile, violent, competitive world and be at home.

Blood Pressure Checks take place at PWC on the first and third Sundays of the month
from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Our medical team is providing the blood pressure checks.

Are you homebound? If so, Deacon John Null can bring you communion. The only exception is if you have or are recovering from COVID. The best way to get in touch with Deacon John is by contacting the church office, at 480-649-0300, and leaving a message.

Arrive to Sunday Service Prepared to Hear God’s Word Proclaimed
The reading for this Sunday, September 20, the 25th in Ordinary Time is Isaiah 55:6-9. Here is a reflection on the passage.
Isaiah calls us to “seek the LORD while he may be found” and to turn toward God with open hearts. These words remind us faith is not simply about believing in God; it is about continually turning our lives toward him.
The passage also gives us a powerful reminder: God’s ways are not our ways, and God’s thoughts are not our thoughts. We often want God to work according to our plans, our timing, and our understanding. When things do not go as we expect, we can wonder where God is or why he has allowed something to happen.
Isaiah invites us to trust that God sees a larger picture than we do. Like the heavens being higher than the earth, God’s wisdom reaches beyond our limited perspective. This does not mean our questions or struggles are unimportant to God. Rather, it means that we can bring those questions to him while still choosing to trust.
For Christians this passage is an invitation to surrender our need to have everything figured out. We come before God with our hopes, disappointments, questions, and fears, confident that his mercy is greater than our failures and his wisdom greater than our understanding.
