Dear Friend,

Thank you to all who participated in the Casino & Dinner last Saturday night. We had an amazing time!!!

Also, what a wonderful turnout we had for our four-week series on “How to Form a Dynamic Christian Community.” The series was very inspirational, and many people said they were deeply encouraged by it.

Moving forward, we are looking forward to the weekend and seeing you at PWC!
A Spiritual Reflection for Your Weekend
by Henri Nouwen

Our Suffering God

God's compassion for all human suffering is exactly what becomes visible on the cross. What this means is we are called to see God's suffering in the people. Every time we see someone in pain and we wonder how that person is going to live through it, know that God suffered that pain and is suffering that pain with that person. In a way, the whole of history is the showing of the depth of God's suffering. From a Christian perspective, history is the unfolding of the intensity and immensity of God's suffering, but also of God's resurrection, because in the midst of all the suffering, you can see signs of hope again and again and again.

The reading for this Sunday, October 26, the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time is: 2 Corinthians 13:11-13.

Here is a synopsis and reflection of the reading.

Paul’s final words to the Corinthians are more than a farewell—they are a blueprint for Christian community. As he closes his letter, Paul reminds the believers that faith is not lived in isolation but in relationship: with God, with one another, and with the world. “Put things in order.” These words call us to examine our lives and our communities.

Are there places where disunity, misunderstanding, or complacency have taken root? Paul’s encouragement is both practical and spiritual. He invites us to take steps toward reconciliation, to align our lives with the peace and order that flow from God’s own heart.

“Agree with one another, live in peace.” Agreement doesn’t mean uniformity of thought, but harmony of spirit. As followers of Christ, we are bound not by identical opinions, but by shared love. Living in peace means choosing forgiveness over resentment, dialogue over division, compassion over judgment.

Paul concludes with what has become one of the most beautiful blessings in Scripture—the Trinitarian benediction:

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.”

Here, Paul encapsulates the entire Christian life.
  • Grace reminds us that we are saved and sustained not by merit, but by Christ’s gift.
  • Love roots us in the very nature of God, whose compassion calls us to love others as we have been loved.
  • Communion—or fellowship—points us to the Spirit’s ongoing presence that binds us together as one body.
As we gather in worship this Sunday, Paul’s words invite us to embody this divine rhythm of grace, love, and fellowship. May our worship renew our hearts to seek peace, to build unity, and to carry God’s presence into every place we go.

Please pray for the elderly in our community who feel alone. May we as individuals and a community seek to reach out to them with the hope, joy, and peace of Jesus.

We will see you on Sunday morning for service at 10:00! If you are out of town, please join us on Facebook Live.
Love,
Fr. Dale & Pastor Mark
