Compassion Grows a New World

As disciples of Jesus, we are sent to wherever there is poverty, loneliness, suffering of any kind. We are given the courage to be with suffering people. We can trust by entering into places of pain, we will find the joy of Jesus. A new world grows out of compassion.

The anticipation continues!!!

Arrive to Sunday Service prepared to hear God’s Word proclaimed

The reading for this Sunday, December 14, the Third Sunday of Advent is Matthew 11:2-11. Here is a synopsis and reflection of the reading.

In today’s Gospel, John the Baptist sends his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you the one who is to come?” Jesus responds not with titles, but with evidence: the blind see, the lame walk, the poor hear good news.

In Advent we, too, are invited to look for the signs of Christ’s presence—not in dramatic displays, but in the quiet healings, restorations, and mercies unfolding around us. Jesus reminds us that God’s kingdom grows in the hidden places, through small acts of compassion and steadfast hope.

As we near Christmas, we are called to trust that God is at work even when we cannot see the whole picture, and to bear witness—like John—to the light that is already breaking into the world.

Happy Advent! May the Prince of Peace reign in our world and in people’s hearts.

Looking forward to seeing you this Sunday for Service at 10:00 a.m.
Love,
Fr. Dale & Pastor Mark
