Dear Friend,

Our Sunday Service begins at 10:00 am In-Person and on Facebook Live for those who cannot physically attend.

The scripture reading for this Sunday, October 23 is Luke 18;9-14. Please read, reflect, and pray with the passage before Sunday. Here is a synopsis of the reading: Jesus tells the parable of the proud Pharisee who prayed from his self-importance and the tax collector who prayed humbly.

Please come to Sunday worship prepared to hear the Word of God proclaimed; we invite you to read the scripture passage before service. The music for this Sunday can be found on the top-right hand corner of our website.

Our Shoebox Ministry is off to an incredible start! Thank you to all those took shoeboxes. All the shoeboxes were taken on Sunday, this is wonderful, and we just received an extra 50 shoeboxes! The deadline to return the shoeboxes is November 13. Please Note: You are requested to put a $10.00 bill in the shoebox to cover postage, this was not stated on Sunday at service during the presentation. Please contact Carol Palmer at 206-612-1742 or Cindie Taylor at 480-205-4272.

The School of Prayer continues, and it has been awesome! You can still join us if you missed any classes. Mark your calendars for these other Wednesday evenings: October 26, and November 2 & 9. The School of Prayer is exploring the different ways and styles of prayer and why we are called to prayer as Christians. The goal of the School of Prayer is to explain and experience how one can have an intimate relationship with God through prayer. You are most welcome to invite your friends! Sr. Paula Hagen and Deacon Karen Klemens will present this coming Wednesday, October 26.

Please join us for Lectio Divina and Contemplative Prayer on Wednesdays through November 9 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. It is prior to the School of Prayer. If you have any questions, please contact Deacon Karen Klemens.

As announced on Sunday, our collections have been down. If you have not been giving, we would ask you to bring it to prayer and ask the Lord to guide you. It is important for you to know your tithing allows The Praise and Worship Center to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of our community and the greater community in the East Valley. From pastoral counseling to grief support, to Bible Study, to Adult Education, to providing food through Matthew’s Crossing for families who are economically unstable to PWC Kids and Marriage Enrichment; your consistent giving makes a difference, a big difference!
