Praise and Worship Never Ends, It Must be Lived! Let us go forth to love and serve the Lord. Thanks Be to God! Alleluia! Alleluia!
This was the message of Fr. Dale’s homily this past Sunday. As members of the PWC community we have a Christian responsibility to be present to one another and to support each other on our faith journey with Jesus. Being a Christian is not a “Me and Jesus Experience,” but a “We and Jesus Experience.” One of the best ways we can do this is to be present at Sunday worship.
If you have been lax in your Sunday commitment, we would ask you to bring it to prayer and ask our Lord to guide you. Our Facebook broadcast should only be for if you are sick, homebound, or out of town. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday morning at 10:00 am and praying as a community!

The scripture reading for this Sunday, February 12, the Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time is: Sirach 15:15-20. Here is a synopsis of the reading: If you choose to keep the commandments, they will save you, if you trust in God, you too shall live.

What a great turnout we had for Fr. Dale’s Sunday Morning Bible Study this past Sunday. Don’t forget there are two more sessions in the series, this Sunday, February 12 and Sunday, February 19. Both classes are from 8:45 am to 9:30 am in Building 4:12. The theme for the class is how St. Paul teaches us about the new creation.

PWC Kids is this Sunday, February 12 beginning at 9:30 am in Building 4:12. This interactive bible study will focus on the Gospel reading that is proclaimed to the adults at worship. This is an incredible opportunity for children ages four through fifth grade to learn about Jesus. Parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles: mark your calendar for this Sunday. The kids finish up at the worship service, coming back during the Lord’s Prayer. You are welcome to bring friends! Contact our children’s minister, Rachel Freeman for more information, Rachel can be reached at [email protected] or at the church office: 480-649-0300.

Meet the Deacons
Deacon Greg Fyten (Retired)
I was born in Minneapolis Minnesota to Clarence and Gladys Fyten, I am the oldest of four children. I attended K – 12 school in Minneapolis. Following my high school graduation, I attended the University of Minnesota, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in History. During my junior year at the university, I married JoAl Plumley.
Following my graduation from the University, I entered the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant in pilot training. My initial military training had us living in Texas where our first daughter, Theresa, was born. We then moved to Georgia where I began my service with the U.S. Air Force as a tanker pilot. During that time, our son, Michael, and second daughter, Kathy Jo were born. Later, I was transferred to the Air Force base in Washington where our family lived on base for the next three years.
I left the Air Force and went on to become a pilot for American Airlines. We lived in the Chicago suburbs. I enjoyed flying domestic and international flight for American for 30 years before my age-related mandatory retirement.
JoAl and I retired to Arizona but maintained a summer lake home in Illinois. We enjoyed a wonderful life in Sun Lakes before JoAl passed away in 2021 due to Covid.
My spiritual journey has included many learning opportunities beyond my own personal spiritual reading and study. They included Marriage Encounter as a presenter, leading men’s retreats, and membership in several faith sharing groups.
A number of years ago, I was invited to be consecrated as a deacon at the Praise and Worship Center. My ministry was adult spirituality until my retirement from active ministry.
Praise and Worship is a loving community, and I am blessed to be a member as well as a deacon.

The School of Change is coming in March!
Change your life. God’s kingdom is here. Matthew 4:17 MSG
Change can be difficult, but it does not have to be. Often the difficulty is in the perspective or how we look at change. Change in behavior, outlook and attitude is a process. We don’t know where we are going and the “in between” often feels messy - like a Holy Collision.
Wednesdays: March 1, 8, 15 and 22 @ 7:00 pm
