Thank you to all those who participated in the Grand Opening last Friday night of the Recovery Café! It was a wonderful evening and experience! So many people came together to make this dream a reality. A special thanks goes to Deacon Dennis Paschke and his wife Dawn for all their hard work and vision. Now the real work of Recovery Café begins, our prayer is Recovery Café will be a place of healing, peace, and renewal.

We had a great turnout for Fr. Dale’s first Bible Study last Sunday. It continues for two more Sundays: this Sunday, December 11 and December 18. We are studying the Book of Isaiah and meeting in Building 4:12 from 8:45 am to 9:30 am. If you missed the first class, you can still attend the next two classes.

At PWC Kids we break open the Word of God that is proclaimed at Sunday Service in a creative, inspirational way designed so young people can understand the scripture reading. PWC Christmas Kids Night: Wednesday, December 14 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Come celebrate the holiday in Building 4:12 with the entire family. Listen to a story from Santa himself on how he met baby Jesus, enjoy cookie decorating and ornament making, and finish the night with hot chocolate. Our Annual Christmas Raffle is in full swing! We have had a great response so far! Lots of tickets have been sold!
Tickets are only $20.00 or six tickets for $100.00. The winner will receive half of the jackpot with the other half going to the Praise and Worship Center. The Christmas Raffle drawing will take place on evening of Christmas Eve.

Pastoral Care Associates Present our Annual Holiday Fundraiser: Believe. Join us for an evening of music, delicious hors d’ oeuvres, cake, dancing, and a little bingo this Saturday, December 10 from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at Recovery Café. Admission is one new unwrapped toy or a gift card for a young person aged 2 to 18. Rev. Michael Lessard’s books and artwork will be on display for purchase along with a special event painting raffle. God is a God of the Present
|
The real enemies of our life are the “oughts” and the “ifs.” They pull us backward into the unalterable past and forward into the unpredictable future. But real life takes place in the here and the now. God is a God of the present. God is always in the moment, be that moment hard or easy, joyful, or painful. When Jesus spoke about God, he always spoke about God as being where and when you are. “When you see me, you see God. When you hear me, you hear God.” God is not someone who was or will be, but the One who is, and who is for me in the present moment. That’s why Jesus came to wipe away the burden of the past and the worries of the future. He wants us to discover God right where we are, here and now.
