Dear Friend,

Contemplative Prayer Tonight! In the biblical vision, all things are brought into existence by God’s creative Word; all of history is a dialogue with God, who speaks to the human heart. It is by listening for the Voice spoken at any given moment, we will be able to tap the very Source of Meaning and realize the unfolding meaning of our lives. You are invited to join us in Lectio Divina and Contemplative Prayer tonight, Wednesday, January 12 at 6:00 pm via Zoom. Simply click on the ZOOM LINK.

We have cancelled both the Brothers’ Ministry and Women’s Bible Study for this Saturday, January 15 in an abundance of caution with the Covid variant spreading at a rapid pace.

We have postponed The Joyce Bailey Concert on Monday, January 17 at 7:00 pm in an effort to keep our community members safe. We look forward to rescheduling the concert with Joyce at a later date.

We have started an exciting series starting at PWC for children ages four through fifth grade called Kicking with Jesus and we are off to a great start! Last Sunday was our first session and all the kids loved it! Created by our own board member, Michelle Lee, through Lee’s ATA Marital Arts, Kicking with Jesus is designed for kids to learn self-defense, break boards, kick targets, and praise God! We will get our bodies moving and have fun kicking for Jesus! Here are the remaining dates: Sundays, January 16, 23, 30 and February 6 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. No registration needed, just show up! You are welcome to bring a friend! At 10:30 am, the children will be brought to the church for the rest of our Sunday service. Parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, get your young people to Kicking with Jesus! Please see the Kicking with Jesus Flyer for more information.

Feed My Starving Children is meeting tomorrow, January 13 from 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm. This a great way to help others in need! For more information email Deacon Peter Klemens at: [email protected]

The Board of Recovery Cafe Arizona is very excited to announce Dwight Wintringer has joined our team in the role of Operations Manager for the Cafe effective January 10, 2022! He has managed large scale events and the launch of several restaurant kitchens. His own journey with addiction has shown him the devastating effects it can bring. His own journey is a testimony to recovery. Dwight is a faith filled Christian and longtime member of our faith community. Do you need a PWC name tag? You can sign up for a name tag on Sunday morning in the office or email Sandy Thiernau at [email protected]. If you have a PWC name tag, we encourage you to wear your name tag so you will get to know the names of others in our PWC community.

Please join in for The Chosen Movie Night and Interactive Bible Study “What Does It Mean to Be Chosen?" The Chosen is a groundbreaking streaming television series about the life of Jesus. Are you homebound? If so, Deacon John Null can bring you communion. The only exception is if you have or are recovering from Covid. The best way to get in touch with Deacon John is by contacting the church office, at 480-649-0300, and leaving a message.

Want to be inspired each week? On Mondays a new reflection comes out each week written by members of our community. Click on our Weekly Reflection Tile and be nourished. Here is the link: Weekly Reflections Page. This week Sandy Thiernau shares her insights. Next week we hear from Carl Leben.

If you are in town, we look forward to seeing you in person on Sunday at 10:00 am. It is so vital we support one another in our Christian faith and gather as a community for worship every Sunday. It is important to remember when Jesus began his public ministry, he brought people together. Jesus realized being a follower of “The Way” would not be easy and we would need the physical and spiritual support of one another as part of a community.

We pray for the gift of peace in our world and in our hearts! Please be safe out there!

Fr. Dale and Pastor Mark
