Dear Friend,

We hope your Advent is off to a wonderful start and you are growing in your relationship with Jesus Christ! Please take advantage of all the Advent Christmas activities Praise and Worship is offering in December.

This Sunday, December 5, is the Second Sunday of Advent and we look forward to seeing you in person at Sunday Service at 10:00 am! Our scripture reading for this Sunday is Luke 3:1-6. Here is a brief summary of the reading: John preaches repentance and baptizes in the region of Jordan.

Please read, reflect, and pray with the passage before Sunday. Just as our pastors prepare by reading, studying, and reflecting on Sunday’s scripture passage, so should we. The music for this Sunday can be found on the top-right hand corner of our website or below.

Our bible study will be Colossians, chapters 3 and 4, What Christians Should Do: Living as Those Made Alive in Christ. We will be serving a wonderful breakfast. This will be an excellent way to spend some time focusing on Jesus as we prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus during the Advent season.

Bible Study with Fr. Dale will continue this Sunday, December 5 and again on December 12 from 8:45 am to 9:30 am in Building 4:12. Our theme continues with The Real Meaning of the Miracles in John’s Gospel.

As we move toward Winter Solstice and the warmth of hearth and home, so too are we invited to turn inward and prepare for the Lord’s coming. This inner preparation, nourished by prayer, silence, Scripture and worship, is essential to fully enter into the celebration of our Lord’s birth. Advent is a quiet, contemplative time of waiting on the coming of the Christ who lives and moves in and about our very Being. You are invited to join us for Lectio Divina and Contemplative Prayer via Zoom on Wednesday December 8 @ 6:00pm. Here is the ZOOM LINK. We look forward to seeing you.

Check out our daily Advent reflections on our website: Advent 2021 Readings and Reflections. There is a reflection for everyday during Advent. Use the scripture reading and Advent reflection to begin your prayer time every morning. Advent is a time to spiritually prepare ourselves for the Second Coming of Christ.
