Dear Friend,

Happy December 1st!!!

Where did November go? Actually, where did 2021 go! We hope and pray this Advent Christmas season is one in which you are able to encounter God’s incredible peace and joy in your life!

Thank you to all those who donated cereal to Matthew’s Crossing! What an incredible response we had! Due to your love and concern those families who experience food and economic insecurity will have something to eat at their breakfast table.

Check out our daily Advent reflections on our website: Advent 2021 Readings and Reflections. There is a reflection for everyday during Advent. Use the scripture reading and Advent reflection to begin your prayer time every morning. Advent is a time to spiritually prepare ourselves for the Second Coming of Christ.

As we begin Advent 2021, please reflect of the importance of community, and your place in community here at PWC, this is from Henri Nouwen:
Community is like a large mosaic. Each little piece seems so insignificant. One piece is bright red, another cold blue or dull green, another warm purple, another sharp yellow, another shining gold. Some look precious, others ordinary. Some look valuable, others worthless. Some look gaudy, others delicate. We can do little with them as individual stones except compare them and judge their beauty and value. When, however, all these little stones are brought together in one big mosaic, portraying the face of Christ, who would ever question the importance of any one of them? If one of them, even the least spectacular one, is missing, the face is incomplete. Together in the one mosaic, each little stone is indispensable and makes a unique contribution to the glory of God. That’s community, a fellowship of little people who together make God visible in the world.
