Dear Friend,

We hope your week has been going well and that you have found the opportunity to spend some time in prayer with Jesus!

Our scripture reading for this Sunday, October 10, Mark 10:35-45. Here is a summary of the reading from Mark: A man with many possessions asks Jesus what he must do to gain eternal life.

Please read, reflect, and pray with the passage before Sunday. The music for this Sunday can be found on the top-right hand corner of our website or below.

FYI, the Delta variant is affecting those who are both vaccinated and unvaccinated. For Sunday service we have socially distanced the chairs in church and strongly recommend we wear masks.

Please read this important announcement, written in a spirit of love, peace, and discipleship:

As a member of the PWC community we ask you to make the commitment to In-Person Sunday Worship if your health permits. The chairs are socially distanced, and we are recommending individuals to wear masks. Some people who are perfectly healthy have told us, they are out and about in the community, and they prefer watching the Sunday Service on Facebook. They have reported to us it is just too convenient to roll out of bed and watch the service or watch it at another time when they can fit it into their schedule. The purpose of the “TV Ministry” on Facebook is to serve the needs of those who are homebound, have health issues concerning Covid-19, or are out of town.
From a biblical and theological perspective, it is important to remember when Jesus began his public ministry, he brought people together. Jesus realized being a follower of “The Way” would not be easy and we would need the physical and spiritual support of one another as part of a community. In today’s world, we need that support even more with all “the stuff” we are facing.
If you are in town, we look forward to seeing you in person on Sunday at 10:00 am. It is so vital we support one another in our Christian faith and physically gather as a community for worship every Sunday.
