Dear Friend,

The scripture reading for this Sunday, July 24 is Luke 11:1-13. Please read, reflect, and pray with the passage before Sunday. Here is a synopsis: Jesus teaches the disciples about prayer. Luke gives more attention to Jesus' teachings on prayer than any other Gospel writer. He also mentions Jesus at prayer more than the others. In today's reading, from the beginning of Chapter 11 of his Gospel, Luke presents the core of Jesus' teaching on prayer. It consists of Jesus teaching a prayer to his disciples, a parable on the persistent neighbor, and assurances that God hears our prayers.

Please come to Sunday worship prepared to hear the Word of God proclaimed; we invite you to read the scripture passage before service. The music for this Sunday can be found on the top-right hand corner of our website.

A member of our community, Bill LaRew, will be baptized during our service on Sunday. Please keep Bill in your prayers this weekend. Congratulations Bill!

We are looking forward to seeing you in church on Sunday morning. If you are in town is it important for you to be with us for Sunday worship. We, as Christians, cannot do this on our own or via social media. When Jesus began his ministry, he knew it would be important for Christians to gather together to support one another.

Our Sunday Service begins at 10:00 am In-Person and on Facebook Live.

Join us next Wednesday night, July 27 at 7:00 pm in the church for our final session of our adult education series entitled: Seeking to Listen! In many ways we have lost the art of respectful listening. Join Fr. Dale and Pastor Mark as we take on some different and difficult issues where people have strong opinions. Our goal is not to verbally beat one another up, but to respectfully hear what people have to say. This series will be in person only.

Upcoming Funerals at PWC: We have recently lost some members of our community who have returned to the Lord. Here are the dates and times of their funerals:
Jason Rivera: grandson of Jean Bruno: Saturday, July 23 at 11:00 am
Sandy Thiernau: Monday, July 25: at 5:00 pm
Carol Taylor: Saturday, August 6 at 10:00 am
Dolores Cutler: Saturday, August 13 at 11:00 am
Eternal Rest Grant unto Them O Lord, and let your Perpetual Light Shine upon Them.

Help Needed for our Upcoming Funerals: Thank you to everyone who signed up on Sunday to help with the funerals we have in the next few weeks. It was wonderful to see so many members of our community sign up! Thank You! We could still use a few more people to assist us. If you would like to volunteer, please call the office at 480-649-0300.

We are growing PWC Kids and need your help! Calling all volunteers who have a heart for Jesus and who love kids! We want a few beautiful souls who can help on Sunday mornings from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in Building 4:12. We need one volunteer each Sunday and our goal is to have enough people to rotate every eight to 12 weeks. Please email Tami Heinl, at [email protected] or at the church office at 480-649-0300. Thank you for your support and prayers and we look forward to serving TOGETHER!

PWC Kids will not meet during the month of July.
