Dear Friend,

The scripture reading for this Sunday, July 10 is Luke 10:38-42. Please read, reflect, and pray with the passage before Sunday. Here is a synopsis: Jesus visits the house of Martha and Mary. Just as our pastors prepare by reading, studying, and reflecting on Sunday’s scripture passage, so should we. The music for this Sunday can be found on the top-right hand corner of our website.

We are looking forward to seeing you in church on Sunday morning. If you are in town is it important for you to be with us for Sunday worship. We, as Christians, cannot do this on our own or via social media. When Jesus began his ministry, he knew it would be important for Christians to gather together to support one another.

Our Sunday Service begins at 10:00 am In-Person and on Facebook Live.

Join the Brothers Ministry for our “Men’s Annual Steak Fry” tonight, Friday, July 15 at 6:00 pm in the church. Guys, this is a wonderful time for the men in our community to get together for an evening of fellowship and great food! You are most welcome to invite friends.

The Women of PWC will be gathering tomorrow Saturday, July 16 for our Saturday morning Bible Study as we examine Psalm 34 as part of our “Summer in the Psalms” series. We will meet in the church at 9:00 am and breakfast will be served. Our bible study is growing as more and more women have been attending our Saturday gatherings. It so exciting to see this ministry growing!

Join us next Wednesday night, July 20 at 7:00 pm in the church for our adult education series entitled: Seeking to Listen! This will be our second session. In many ways we have lost the art of respectful listening. Join Fr. Dale and Pastor Mark as we take on some different and difficult issues where people have strong opinions. Our goal is not to verbally beat one another up, but to respectfully hear what people have to say. If you have an issue you would like to see discussed, please call the church office at 480-649-0300 and leave a message. Please mark your calendar for the final date: Wednesday, July 27. This series will be in person only.

We need one volunteer each Sunday and our goal is to have enough people to rotate every eight to 12 weeks. Please email Tami Heinl, at [email protected] or at the church office at 480-649-0300. In Memoriam: Sandy Thiernau
As many of you heard on Sunday, Sandy passed away a week ago today on Friday afternoon. Sandy, a fixture at the Praise and Worship Center, was committed to making PWC a better and holier place for all who entered our doors and worshipped here. Sandy “volunteered” or the proper word would be “ministered” at PWC, Sundays through Thursdays, and sometimes coming in on Fridays and Saturdays if needed. You could always find her in the office proofing email blasts or website reflections, cutting up communion bread in the kitchen, arranging food for an event, ordering supplies from Costco or a variety of other stores, or assisting with Sunday worship. Sandy’s funeral is scheduled for Monday, July 25 at 5:00 pm in the church. As Matthew 25:23 says:
Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
Our sincerest condolences go out to Sandy’s daughter and her family.
Sandy, you will be missed; it already feels so strange not to have you around the office.

Please pray for peace in our world, our country, and in our hearts.

Fr. Dale and Pastor Mark
