Dear Friend,

The scripture reading for this Sunday, July 3 is Luke 10:1-12, 17-20. Here is a summary of the reading: Jesus sends out the 72 to announce the coming kingdom. Please read, reflect, and pray with the passage before Sunday. Just as our pastors prepare by reading, studying, and reflecting on Sunday’s scripture passage, so should we. The music for this Sunday can be found on the top-right hand corner of our website.

Our Sunday Service begins at 10:00 am In-Person and on Facebook Live.

Seeking to Listen! It feels like right now we live in a world where we just talk over each other. Everyone seems to have strong opinions and they think they are always correct. In many ways we have lost the art of respectful listening. In July, we are going to be taking on some different and difficult issues where people have strong opinions. Our goal is not to verbally beat one another up, but to respectfully hear what people have to say. If you have an issue you would like to see discussed, please call the church office at 480-649-0300 and leave a message. Please mark your calendar for these dates: July 13, 20, & 27 at 7:00 pm. It will be an in-person event only.

Join the Brothers Ministry for our “Men’s Annual Steak Fry” on Friday, July 15 at 6:00 pm in the church. Guys, this is a wonderful time for the men in our community to get together for an evening of fellowship and great food! You are most welcome to invite friends. We will be meeting in the church.

The Women of PWC will be gathering on Saturday, July 16 for our Saturday morning Bible Study as we examine Psalm 34 as part of our “Summer in the Psalms” series. We will meet in the church at 9:00 am and breakfast will be served. Our bible study is growing as more and more women have been attending our Saturday gatherings. It so exciting to see this ministry growing!

Mark your calendar for a session on “Finding Happiness” on Tuesday, July 12 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. It promises to be an insightful and inspirational morning. A continental breakfast will be served, we will be meeting in the church.

Later in July, the Prayer Retreat is Saturday, July 28 at 10:00 am in Building 4:12. Join Deacon Cheryl Armstrong and Deacon John Null of our for this inspirational and motivating morning.

We are growing PWC Kids and need your help! Calling all volunteers who have a heart for Jesus and who love kids! We want a few beautiful souls who can help on Sunday mornings from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in Building 4:12. We need one volunteer each Sunday and our goal is to have enough people to rotate every eight to 12 weeks. Please email Tami Heinl, at [email protected] or at the church office at 480-649-0300. Thank you for your support and prayers and we look forward to serving TOGETHER!

PWC Kids will not meet during the month of July.

A Reflection from Henri Nouwen: Your Suffering is my Suffering
Compassion means to become close to the one who suffers. But we can come close to another person only when we are willing to become vulnerable ourselves. A compassionate person says: “I am your brother; I am your sister; I am human, fragile, and mortal, just like you. I am not scandalized by your tears, nor afraid of your pain. I, too, have wept. I, too, have felt pain.” We can be with the other only when the other ceases to be “other” and becomes like us. This, perhaps, is the main reason that we sometimes find it easier to show pity than compassion. The suffering person calls us to become aware of our own suffering. How can I respond to someone’s loneliness unless I am in touch with my own experience of loneliness? How can I be close to handicapped people when I refuse to acknowledge my own handicaps? How can I be with the poor when I am unwilling to confess my own poverty?

Your tithing during the summer has been incredible, thank you! As you know many in our community go away for the summer to cooler locations. Your continued giving allows the ministry of the Praise and Worship Center to continue during these hot summer months. The work of the Lord and our community does not stop during the summer; people still need to be ministered to daily. Thank you for your commitment to the Praise and Worship Center. If you have been remiss in you giving, please bring it to prayer and ask the Lord to guide you.
Here are the different ways you can tithe to PWC:
Mail in your gift to: Praise and Worship Center, 2551 N. Arizona Avenue, Chandler, AZ 85225.
Donate on our web page: Donation Form.
Sign up for monthly giving with a credit card or voided check. Just call the office at 480-649-0300 or stop by the office.

We are looking forward to seeing you in church on Sunday morning at 10:00. It is important for you as a follower of Jesus to be there.

May the love, peace, and joy of Jesus reign in our hearts!

Fr. Dale & Pastor Mark
