Dear Friend,

The Season of Lent begins today with Ash Wednesday. We will have Drive thru Distribution of Ashes; ashes will be available all day today from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and you do not need to get out of your car! We will also have a service tonight in the church at 7:00 pm in person or on Facebook Live. Our theme for Lent 2021 is Lord Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace. You can view the service on Facebook Live at PWC website and find the Facebook button at the top of our home page.

Lent is a time for reflection and preparedness. It is a time to fully and consciously enter the Paschal Mystery. All are invited to join us for Contemplative Prayer each Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm starting tonight through March 31. We come together to Listen to God’s Word (Lectio Divina) followed by a time of communing with and resting in Holy Presence. It is a graced experience to truly be with God, and one another, for the greater sake of our world. We will both gather at PWC and via Zoom. Here is the link:

Pastor Mark is here to help you get signed up for the COVID-19 vaccine. We have heard from a number of our members who have either signed up for their vaccine or have received their first shot. We are also acutely aware that some are struggling to get signed up. If you are having trouble navigating the site, please call Pastor Mark at the office, 480-649-0300, and he will assist you. Here is the link to register for the vaccine for Covid-19: https://podvaccine.azdhs.gov/. You can also call: 1-844-542-8201 or 602-542-1000.

Join us for our St. Patrick’s Day Virtual Dinner & Concert Fundraiser on Wednesday, March 17. It promises to be an enjoyable evening of entertaining fun with a wonderful Irish dinner, inspiring Irish music from our PWC band, and a teaching on St. Patrick! For only $25.00 you can purchase a dinner of Corned Beef and Cabbage, as well as potatoes and carrots, plus a dessert from Lisa’s Rum Cake. Our dinner is being donated by Sue and Pat Kieny from Native Grill in Maricopa. Their generous donation allows all proceeds of the dinner to go to the ministry of PWC! You will also receive some “St. Patrick’s swag” (ie: St. Patrick’s Day hat and glasses) to wear during the dinner and concert. We will want you to take a picture of yourself and send it to us here at the PWC.

You will also have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets at $5.00 each for our 50/50 Raffle. There will be items available for auction. Those who live out of state, or those wanting to help the homeless, can purchase a meal for a homeless shelter for $25.00. Your Irish dinner can be picked up on Wednesday, March 17 from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm here at PWC. Take it home, enjoy the meal, and watch the concert from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Facebook Live. The deadline to order a meal is Sunday, March 14. You will be able to purchase tickets online or in the church office. You can order tickets online here:

If you are interested in helping with Feed My Starving Children on Thursday, February 25 from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm, please contact Deacon Peter Klemens at deaconpeter@pwcaz.net. This is a great way to assist those in need!

Don’t forget about our Weekly Reflections on the PWC website: Weekly Reflections.. This week Terri Thompson is up and she has a wonderful reflection on prayer and silence. Next Monday, Fr. Mike Lessard shares his insights.

Ministry to the sick and grieving, pastoral counseling for those struggling, adult education, our music ministry, the prayer ministry, and our social media ministry are just a few of the ministries you support through your tithing. Thank you for your continued generosity and prayers. You can tithe in one of three ways:
Mail in your gift to: Praise and Worship Center, 2551 N. Arizona Avenue, Chandler, AZ 85225.
Donate on our web page: Donation Form.
Sign up for monthly giving with a credit card or voided check. Just call the office at 480-649-0300.

May Jesus bless those in our community who are dealing with the loss of a loved one, an individual who is sick or suffering, and those who are struggling during this pandemic. We continue to pray for those who put their lives on the line every day for the common good of our society.

We are looking forward to seeing you today either during the day for ashes or tonight at 7:00 pm for our Ash Wednesday service either in person or on Facebook Live. May the Season of Lent be a time in which you grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus and our Christian community.

Fr. Dale and Pastor Mark
