Dear Friend,

Our in-person services continue this Sunday, February 7 at 10:00 am. Our scripture reading for Sunday is Mark 1:29-39. Please read, reflect, and pray with the passage before Sunday. At this Sunday service we will be anointing those who are ill or struggling. If you cannot attend in person, we will be praying over people who are watching on Facebook Live.

The music for this Sunday can be found on the top right-hand corner of our website or below:

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on February 17. Here is what we are planning: Drive thru Distribution of Ashes; ashes will be available all day from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and you do not need to get out of your car! We will also have a service in the church at 7:00 pm in person or on Facebook Live. Our theme for Lent 2021 is Lord Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace. Don’t forget to check your mailbox, we are sending you a postcard with Ash Wednesday information.

Our next Women’s Bible Study is this Saturday, February 6 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Zoom. The focus of the bible study will be: God Uses Our Past to Build our Future. This is the permanent log in to Zoom:

We will be back this Wednesday, February 10 at 7:00 pm on Facebook Live with a teaching on the story of the Prodigal Son, but with a different perspective, from the point of view of the older brother! Please mark your calendar.

Lent is a time for refection and preparedness. It is a time to fully and consciously enter the Paschal Mystery. All are invited to join us for Contemplative Prayer each Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm from February 17 through March 31. We come together to Listen to God’s Word (Lectio Divina) followed by a time of communing with and resting in Holy Presence. It is a graced experience to truly be with God, and one another, for the greater sake of our world. We will both gather at PWC and via Zoom. Here is the link:

This past year we saw a significant increase in the prayer needs and requests from our community, family, and friends. In response, the Prayer Chain Ministry is planning for growth! To kick-start 2021, we are hosting an Enlistment Campaign to encourage more PWC members to COMMIT or RECOMMIT to being part of our faithful prayer team. To sign up for the Prayer Chain, please call the church office at 480-649-0300. We will then host an All-Team Training Session on Saturday, February 13th at 9:00 am via Zoom. The meeting link will be sent out prior to Saturday's training.

We have lots of new items in the Cross Shop, especially the new St. Francis statues. They are beautiful and inspiring, plus we have some new crosses from Billy Templeton. The Cross Shop is open on Sunday mornings and throughout the week during regular office hours. You can stop by and know that you are safe by socially distancing.

Check out the link to the PWC calendar for the rest of January, February, and the beginning of March: Calendar of Events. Due to Covid-19 and with so much uncertainty, we are only planning month to month.

This past Sunday we heard from a number of people who have either signed up for their vaccine or have received their first shot. They said they were looking forward to safely getting out again! We are also keenly aware that some are struggling to get signed up. If you are having trouble navigating the site, please call Pastor Mark at the office, 480-649-0300 and he will assist you. Here is the link to register for the vaccine for Covid-19: https://podvaccine.azdhs.gov/. You can also call: 1-844-542-8201 or 602-542-1000 to sign up.

Pastoral counseling is something you might find beneficial. Fr. Mike Lessard is in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Or, if you want to social distance or cannot come into the office, Fr. Mike is available via the phone. Please call the office, 480-649-0300, to make an appointment with Fr. Mike. If you are struggling with something in your life, please know we are here for you and want to assist you.

Thank you for your continued tithing, it allows the ministry of PWC to continue on a daily basis ministering to so many members of the Body of Christ who are struggling. If you have lapsed in your giving, please bring it to prayer and ask Jesus to guide you. You can tithe in one of three ways:
Mail in your gift to: Praise and Worship Center, 2551 N. Arizona Avenue, Chandler, AZ 85225.
Donate on our web page: Donation Form.
Sign up for monthly giving with a credit card or voided check. Just call the office at 480-649-0300.

Please pray for healing in our world. We remember those who are grappling with the loss of a loved one from Covid-19, those battling economic issues, food insecurity, and for our essential workers who literally put their lives on the line for us on a daily basis.

We are looking forward to seeing you this Sunday morning at 10:00 in church or on Facebook Live.

Fr. Dale and Pastor Mark

P.S. Who do you think is going to win the Super Bowl? Tampa Bay or Kansas City? It should be a great game, please stay safe and social distance! Hopefully, next Super Bowl we can say: Go Cards!!!
