Dear Friend,

However you were able to spend your Thanksgiving, we hope it was one that was full of gratitude and joy!

Our in-person services continue this coming Sunday, November 29 at 10:00 am and we begin the Season of Advent. Social distancing guidelines will apply. The chairs are socially distanced, and everyone will need to wear a mask. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available at our entrances. If you are planning on attending in-person, please do not arrive until after 9:30 am.

Our scripture reading for Sunday is 2 Samuel 7:8-14. Please read, reflect, and pray with the passage before Sunday. The music for this Sunday can be found on the top right-hand corner of our website or below.

On Facebook Live we will continue to live stream our Sunday services if you do not feel comfortable attending in person. Please do what is best for you. To participate in our service online, go to: PWC website and find the Facebook button and find Facebook at the top of our home page.

Wondering what to do this Saturday, November 28? Join us for the Prayer Retreat: Let Us Give Thanks! It begins at 10:00 am in Building 412 with Deacons Cheryl Armstrong and John Null.

The PWC Advent Prayer Devotional should be in your hands now. It was mailed out last week to those who had not picked it up at the church. As you know, Advent starts this Sunday, November 29. We are asking you to spend at least 10 minutes a day; reading, praying, journaling, and contemplating each reflection. It is a beautiful prayer book created by members of our church community. Additional copies can be purchased in The Cross Shop for $4.00.

Check out our new outside Prayer Garden with the statue of St. Francis. It is beautiful! With the weather becoming so nice now in Arizona, this is a wonderful opportunity to stop by and spend some time in quiet prayer or pray with scripture!

Don’t forget about our Weekly Reflections on the PWC website: PWC website > Weekly Reflections. During December we will be writing on the Season of Advent Christmas and how they are spiritually linked together.

Volunteers are needed for Feed My Starving Children on Tuesday, December 15 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Contact Deacon Peter Klemens at deaconpeter@pwcaz.net for more information.

Our Fall 50/50/50 Raffle is up and running and the pot is growing! An easy way to purchase tickets is online! The pot is split 50/50 between the winner of the raffle and PWC. Each ticket is $50.00 or you can buy three tickets for $100.00. You can purchase tickets here at church or at the PWC website. The Music Ministry, outreach to those who are poor and hungry through Matthew’s Crossing and I-Help, Ministry to the Sick and Homebound, our Social Media Ministry are just some of the ministries here at PWC that your tithing supports. Thank you for your generous support of PWC.

There is plenty of space during the week in the Cross Shop to socially distance.

Join us for Contemplative Prayer during Advent on Zoom. We will gather together via Zoom for Contemplative Prayer each Wednesday evening during Advent; December 2, 9, 16 and 23 at 6:30. We will use scripture passages from the PWC Advent Prayer Devotional for our Leccio and follow with a 30-minute sharing of our experience from the week’s passages and reflections.
