Dear Friend,

We hope you had a wonderful and restful Labor Day Weekend!

Join us tonight at 7:00 pm either in person or on Facebook Live. Physical therapist, Lori Deibler, will present a workshop on how to prevent falling. This excellent workshop is designed for the elderly members of our community and those who find themselves not steady on their feet as well as their caregivers. Lori, a member of the PWC community and board member, will explore the best practices of lessening your chances of falling and hurting yourself.

Also, before our Fall Prevention Workshop, join us tonight, Wednesday, September 8 @ 6:00pm for Contemplative Prayer. We will meet on Zoom only using the link below. Participants will be guided through an experience of Leccio Divina leading to the Prayer of Quiet. Contact Deacon Karen Klemens with questions. Join Zoom Meeting: ZOOM LINK - Meeting ID: 830 7272 0889

Check out the PWC Event Calendar. We have a lot of activities going on in September. Review the calendar and get involved!

The Brothers’ Ministry is back beginning Saturday, September 18 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. All men of the PWC are invited and you are most welcome to bring a friend or two!

The Women’s Bible Study, scheduled for Saturday, September 18 has been cancelled. We will start up again on Saturday, October 2 at 9:00 am. The topic for the October 2 session is: Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People.

As many of you are aware, Haiti was devastated by a hurricane. Due to your tithing and generosity, PWC has been able to send $1,200.00 to the NPH orphanage in Haiti so that NPH can replace the roof at the orphanage that was so severely damaged. Because of you and your kindness, life for the children at NPH is a bit more bearable.

During these hot summer months, even though it is September, thank you for your faithful giving! We still have many bills to pay and your tithing allows us to meet the many needs of our PWC community and those who are struggling economically or with food insecurity.
There are three different and easy ways to give:
Mail in your gift to: Praise and Worship Center, 2551 N. Arizona Avenue, Chandler, AZ 85225.
Donate on our web page: Donation Form
Sign up for monthly giving with a credit card or voided check. Just call the office at 480-649-0300.

In September, we will be offering adult education based on the book Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. Now is a good time to start reading it. The book sells for $18.99; our price is only $16.00. Stop by the Cross Shop today and purchase a copy! The cost of the sessions is $15.00, and it includes another book. If there is an issue with payment, please know scholarships are available. Father Dale and members of our community will lead the class. Please put these dates on your calendar: September 22, 29, October 6, 13, and 20.

Don’t forget about our weekly reflections that come out on Monday morning on our PWC website. Different members of our community share a reflection each week. Go to: Weekly Reflections. This week is Deacon Cheryl Armstrong. Next Monday we look forward to reading Deacon Peter Klemens’ reflection.

If you are in need of pastoral counseling Fr. Mike Lessard is available on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Please call the church office to make an appointment at 480-649-0300. He is a great resource!

Our next Grief Support meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 9 from 10:00 am to 11:15 am. Pastor Mark will be leading this session assisting those who have lost a loved one and seeking to help them find peace through the grief process. For more information, contact Pastor Mark at the PWC office.

Feed My Starving Children is meeting Thursday, September 16 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This is an excellent means to assist others who are struggling. For more information email Deacon Peter Klemens at: [email protected]

Put this on Your Saturday Morning Calendar! Our next Prayer Retreat will be Saturday, September 25. Our theme is Complete Dependence on God: Serving Others. Join several of our deacons for this inspiring morning from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Building 412.

It appears the Delta variant is affecting people who have been vaccinated. For Sunday service we are going to social distance the chairs in church and strongly recommend we temporarily wear masks.

Let us ask God to guide us in being his instruments of peace, hope, and joy!

Love,
Fr. Dale and Pastor Mark
