Dear Friend,

Our in-person services continue this Sunday at 10:00 am. Our scripture reading for this Sunday is Isaiah 35:4-7a. Here is a summary of the reading from Isaiah: Here is your God, he comes with vindication; with divine recompense he comes to save you.

Please read, reflect, and pray with the passage before Sunday. The music for this Sunday can be found on the top-right hand corner of our website or below.

If you are in town over the Labor Day Weekend, we look forward to seeing you in person on Sunday at 10:00 am. It is vital we support one another in our Christian journey and gather as a community for worship every Sunday. There are always donuts after the service!

Monday, September 6, is Labor Day and the church office is closed in honor of the holiday. As a reminder, the church office is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and on Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Physical therapist, Lori Deibler, will present a workshop on how to prevent falling. This excellent workshop is designed for the elderly members of our community and those who find themselves not steady on their feet as well as their caregivers. The Fall Prevention Workshop will be on Wednesday, September 8 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm either in person or on Facebook Live. Lori, a member of the PWC community and Board Member, will explore the best practices of lessening your chances of falling and hurting yourself.

Check out the PWC September Online Calendar. We have a lot of activities going on in September. Review the calendar and get involved!

Our next Grief Support meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 9 from 10:00 am to 11:15 am. Pastor Mark will be leading this session assisting those who have lost a loved one and seeking to help them find peace through the grief process. For more information, contact Pastor Mark at the PWC office.

In September, we will be offering adult education based on the book Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. Now is a good time to start reading it. The book sells for $18.99; our price is only $16.00. Stop by the Cross Shop today and purchase a copy! The cost of the sessions is $15.00, and it includes another book. If there is an issue with payment, please know scholarships are available. Father Dale and members of our community will lead the class. Please put these dates on your calendar: September 22, 29, October 6, 13, and 20. You can sign up after service on Sunday.

We want to pray for you! PWC has a prayer chain committee who will lift you and your loved ones in prayer. Please go to our: Prayer Request Form.

Feed My Starving Children is meeting Thursday, September 16 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This is an excellent means to assist others who are struggling. For more information email Deacon Peter Klemens at: [email protected].

Put this on your Saturday Morning Calendar! Our next Prayer Retreat will be Saturday, September 25. Our theme is Complete Dependence on God: Serving Others. Join several of our deacons for this inspiring morning from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in Building 412.

Last Sunday was the second week we used our new camera system here at PWC and it was wonderful! We worked out the sound issues and now will be working on camera shots and angles. We have three cameras that will be used during our Sunday service on Facebook to have more of a professional feel. Thank you to the PWC Board for recognizing the need for the audio-visual upgrade, providing the necessary funds, and to several members of our community who have so generously responded to the need!

If you are in need of pastoral counseling Fr. Mike Lessard is available on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Please call the church office to make an appointment at 480-649-0300. He is a great resource!

Join the PWC Prayer Team! This is an excellent way to pray and lift up the needs of our community members. Contact Debbie Smith at [email protected] for more information or to sign up.

Thank you to all those who give so generously each week to support the ministry of PWC and all the work we seek to do in the name of Jesus. We especially appreciate those who are currently out of town who tithe to sustain the PWC ministry. If you have been remiss in your giving, ask God to guide your heart.

As many of you are aware, Haiti was devastated by a hurricane. Due to your tithing and generosity, PWC has been able to send $1200.00 to the NPH orphanage in Haiti so that NPH can replace the roof at the orphanage that was so severely damaged. Because of you and your kindness, life for the children at NPH is a bit more bearable.

Are you homebound? If so, Deacon John Null can bring you communion. The only exception is if you have or are recovering from Covid. The best way to get in touch with Deacon John is by contacting the church office, at 480-649-0300, and leaving a message.

If you are sick and in need of meals while you are sick, Dawn Paschke, Deacon Dennis’ wife, will be coordinating this ministry. To leave a message for Dawn, please call the church office at 480-649-0300.

Please always check in with our: PWC website. We have lots of great information on the website about PWC! We are continuously revising it!

It appears the Delta variant is affecting people who have been vaccinated. For Sunday service we will continue to social distance the chairs in church and strongly recommend we temporarily wear masks.

Have a safe Labor Day Weekend; please continue to pray for healing in our world! We look forward to seeing you on Sunday morning at 10:00!

Fr. Dale and Pastor Mark
