Dear Friend,

There is a lot going on in our world, there is a lot of pain out there. From what is going on in Afghanistan to Haiti to Covid-19 to the social issues we are currently facing, it is enough to want to put your head under a blanket and disappear. But as Christians we cannot. We are a people of the resurrection who are called to offer hope, joy, and peace to those we encounter. So how do we do this? We could start with ourselves.

Rather than focusing on all the negative in the world, focus on what is right with our world and our lives. Focus on gratitude. One possible way is when you wake up in the morning; reflect on what is good in your life, what you are grateful for. Come up with a list of five things you are grateful for and thank God. Try that every day when you wake up and watch how your life and the lives of others around you will positively change for the better!

We are so excited about our new camera system here at PWC! We used it for the first-time last Sunday and we are still working out a few bugs, especially with the sound. Thank you in advance for your patience. The new system has three new cameras and video production equipment. This is due in part to the approval of the PWC board and the generosity of several people. This upgrade allows us to broadcast with different cameras and angles as well as fine tuning the production of our Sunday services and teachings on Wednesdays.

Feed My Starving Children is meeting Thursday, August 26 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This a great way to help others in need! For more information email Deacon Peter Klemens at: [email protected].

We have a Prayer Retreat on Saturday, August 28th, in Building 412 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Our theme is Complete Dependence on God: Being Thankful. A number of our deacons will lead this uplifting session.

We want to pray for you! PWC has a prayer chain committee who will lift you and your loved ones in prayer. Please go to our prayer website: Prayer Request Form.

In September, we will be offering adult education based on the book Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. Now is a good time to start reading it. The book sells for $18.99; our price is only $16.00. Stop by the Cross Shop today and purchase a copy! The cost of the sessions is $15.00, and it includes another book. If there is an issue with payment, please know scholarships are available. Father Dale and members of our community will lead the class. Please put these dates on your calendar: September 22, 29, October 6, 13, and 20. You can sign up this Sunday after service.

Your tithing allows the ministry of PWC to thrive; from ministering on Sunday through music, to outreach to the poor and needy, to adult education classes; to ministries to men and women; your giving allows these ministries and other ministries at PWC to continue and grow. Thank you for your continued giving! If you have been remiss in your giving, ask God to guide your heart. There are three different and easy ways to give:
Mail in your gift to: Praise and Worship Center, 2551 N. Arizona Avenue, Chandler, AZ 85225.

Sign up for monthly giving with a credit card or voided check. Just call the office at 480-649-0300.

Over the past few weeks, we have had several members of our community come down with Covid. It appears the Delta variant is affecting people who have been vaccinated. For Sunday service we are going to social distance the chairs in church and strongly recommend we temporarily wear masks.

We pray for peace in our hearts and in our world.

Fr. Dale and Pastor Mark
