Dear Friend,

Our in-person services continue this Sunday at 10:00 am. Our scripture reading for this Sunday is John 6:60-69. If you are in town, we look forward to seeing you in person on Sunday at 10:00 am. It is vital we support one another in our Christian journey and gather together as a community for worship every Sunday.

Please read, reflect, and pray with the passage before Sunday. The music for this Sunday can be found on the top-right hand corner of our website or below.

FYI, the last session of the Sunday Morning Bible Study with Fr. Dale for this Sunday, August 22 has been cancelled.

We are so excited about our new camera system here at PWC! They are installing the cameras right now. We hope to have it up and running soon! The new system will have three new cameras and video production equipment. This is due in part to the approval of the PWC board and the generosity of several people. This upgrade will allow us to broadcast with different cameras and angles as well as fine tuning the production of our Sunday services and teachings on Wednesdays. Currently our productions are limited because we only have one camera.

We have a Prayer Retreat on Saturday, August 28th, in Building 412 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Our theme is Complete Dependence on God: Being Thankful. A number of our deacons will lead this uplifting session.

Feed My Starving Children is meeting Thursday, August 26 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. This a great way to help others in need! For more information email Deacon Peter Klemens at: [email protected].

If you are in need of pastoral counseling Fr. Mike Lessard is back and healed and is available on Monday and Wednesday mornings. Please call the church office to make an appointment at 480-649-0300.

Are you homebound? If so, Deacon John Null can bring you communion. The only exception is if you have or are recovering from Covid. The best way to get in touch with Deacon John is by contacting the church office, at 480-649-0300, and leaving a message.

If you are sick and in need of meals while you are sick, Dawn Paschke, Deacon Dennis’ wife, will be coordinating this ministry. To leave a message for Dawn, please call the church office at 480-649-0300.

In September, we will be offering adult education based on the book Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. Now is a good time to start reading it. The book sells for $18.99; our price is only $16.00. Stop by the Cross Shop today and purchase a copy! The cost of the sessions is $15.00, and it includes another book. If there is an issue with payment, please know scholarships are available. Father Dale and members of our community will lead the class. Please put these dates on your calendar: September 22, 29, October 6, 13, and 20.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Your continued tithing and generosity allows the ministry of PWC to continue during the summer months. What a blessing you are in your giving!

We are constantly updating it with new reflections, new podcasts, and email blasts, as well as our calendar for August. Please know you can always make a prayer request. Over the past few weeks, we have had several members of our community come down with Covid. It appears the Delta variant is affecting people who have been vaccinated. For Sunday service we are going to social distance the chairs in church and strongly recommend we temporarily wear masks.

There is a lot of pain in our world right now, please pray for all those who are hurting, especially the people of Haiti and Afghanistan and those suffering with Covid-19 and other health ailments.

Fr. Dale and Pastor Mark
